download a powered-on virtual machine's .vmx fails

As the Vmware kb state this error will be happened on shared datastore and it including the Vmware cluster :

"This issue may occur when the .vmx or the .nvram files are stored on a shared datastore (that is, if the datastore is visible to more than one ESX host). The ESX host holds a lock to these files when the virtual machines is powered-on, so attempting to download these files from another ESX host results in failure."
  • Trying to download from the datastore from the ESXi Host which the VM is running on but fail
  • The workaround is copying the vmx file to other folder of the datastore and download it again but it is quite strange that this issue last from esx3.5.x to esxi5.1.x (could not fix ? ><)
